In Honor of My Dad Blog Hop

Welcome to In Honor of My Dad Hop!

If your Here for Sketchy Saturday, Scroll on down to the next Post below.
Hope you check out Th Honor My dad Blog Hop too!

Otherwise,You should have Hopped on over from Jessica's Blog, if you happen to stumble upon the hop Start at the Beginning at Jen's Blog

My sperm donor is not a "dad" I'd consider one to honor, unless your in the mob, which I am not part of that lifestyle, nor do I want to be.  My parents were divorced when I was a mere year old and separated when I was 6 months old. It was very clear even til this day, i am that unwanted child for my Sperm donor. That's what I call him now a days. Sadly, no one knows where he is today or even whether he's alive or not. I did have a few good years when my oldest was born with my Real Dad but he went back to his ways again, if he ever stopped?  Anyways, growing up my friends' Dad was the closest thing I ever had to a "dad" he I always hold dear to my heart. He passed away when I was in the 7th grade :(   Then when I was all grown up my mom finally found an Angel! Someone who treated her like a Queen! He was so perfect for my mom and it was great to see my Mom smiling and truly happy.  Not only was he great for my mom he was the best Javic (grandfather in Polish) My kids call him Ja-Ja. He treated my kids like they were his real grandkids. He was just awesome!! Yes, he too died after surviving esophagus cancer, he died too young and too soon of a brain tumor.
The project I did today is about both my "dads". I wrote a "poem" about my first "dad" the year he died. Which later in Senior Year in Poetry class influenced two poems I wrote, which oddly was written for the my First "dad" Mr. B. but also applies to my 2nd "dad" Curt.  They both were ill at a young age and taken from the Earth from their disease.  So I have finally put these into a project that will be framed and hung on my walls in "memory" of them.  It was a very hard project to do because of all the wonderful memories we have together and wishing they were still here to see so much more that I only pray they are watching from heaven with their smiles.

In case you can't read the "Poems"
The First One which the other two were inspired by is

Wishing You a Happy Father’s Day

You are the father I will always remember. I had a father all my own though he was never around.  When I was a Child, nobody understood me when I was young; nobody even tried, except for “my dear father”. You took me under your wing as if I was yours. You showed me the path that led to happiness. You’ve helped me through many struggles. You always lent me a helping hand, and made me feel right at home. Though you were ill you were like a clown, a guy who always wore a smile upon his face.

I remember the day you left forever. Though you did not want to go, but it was your time. All I thought was I never told you, “thank You” and “I love You”. Now it was too late, I had no second chance. I too, never wished you a Happy Fathers Day.

On Father’s Day, I place a single red rose upon your grave. I stand blankly staring at slate of rock with engraved upon it is your name. I hear you playing your guitar, singing your country songs you use to sing to us on quiet summer evenings.

Remembering this, remembering the childhood, you made so great. My Childhood was never all that great, though you make it worth remembering.

Though you’ve been gone quite some time, your still alive in my memories and in my heart. Though, I am lost without you here by my side.
Happy Father’s Day Dad!

Dedicated to Mr. Bishop
1984

The Other two were written my Senior Year for Poetry Class

This disease runs through his veins
I ask God, why did you pick him?
Pick on someone else, and him be.
Go away I pray, yet it still remains.

My anger burns inside like a flame
He’s just began his life can’t you see?
I thought life would be a cup of tea.
I was wrong, but we have no one to blame.

I don’t ever want to say good-bye
What will I do? Does anyone know?
The memories of him, I will save.

I never know what day he’ll die.
His time has come, he must now go.
I will always remember you and visit your grave.

Though sick, you were like a clown.
You taught me to laugh and to smile.
Thoughts of you turn my frown upside down.
Though sick, you were like a clown
Lucky I was, it was you I found.
You’ve been gone now for awhile
Though sick, you were like a clown
You taught me to laugh and to smile.

Thanks for Hopping By! Hope you enjoyed my project! remember to tell whoever it is you need to tell That "You Love them" Before its too late. If they taught me nothing else its that.

Before you go, you may enjoy the Rose MTC or SVG Rose File I made for my Tartan Day Blog Hop which alos, is a project about my 2nd Dad. We Love CTMH Wednesday

This is in part a duplicate of what I have in Thrifty Tuesdays Post. This Week, if you haven't noticed I missed most days posting. If you look at the date of this particular point you'll see its posted on Sat. and not wednesday. I do apologize for not posting on my regular days. Its been a tough week for me and each week is getting tougher. I am coming up on my 3rd anniversary of my malpractice incident and you'd think each year it would get easier but for me it gets harder and starts earlier. I think because I think of where I was then on this date 3 yrs ago and where I would have been if Dr. Daniel Davis didn't make a mistake and change my life and not in a way a Doctor is suppose to, but he did and he refuses to take responsibility for his actions, no it won't make my arm be all better, but it would make the financial part of all my medical bills I have and still encounter every month alot easier. In any case, I'm babbling away. If your interested in MY Story you can see my new Blog and Facebook Page I've decided to start here: BLOG  or FACEBOOK. I'd love to have your following support.

Jen's Birthday Hop

Welcome to Jen's Birthday Hop.
The theme is turtle's cause Jen loves turtles!

You should have hopped here from  Theresa's Blog. If you just happened upon here you want to start from the beginning you'll want to start at Jen's Blog and Wish her a Happy Birthday and see the Blog Candy that's up for prizes one of which I donated.  Otherwise your here check out my cute lil project.

I made a CTMH Card/Recipe Box. I used CTMH "Miracle" papers from the Level 2 Miracle Paper Pack. I used CTMH Cardstock to make "Squirt" from Cricut Best of Pixar Cartridge. I inked the edges of all the "turtles" pieces with CTMH juniper ink.  I inked the edges of the papers with Chocolate ink and the box in bubble gum ink.
These boxes are great for storing cards (4 1/4 x 5 1/2 size) or recipe note cards or even your photos waiting to be scrapped.  The regular size provo craft and sizzix emboss folder fit in these boxes perfectly too.

Thanks for stopping by. If your not following me, I'd love for you to. Comments make me smile and I love reading them!
Happy Hopping!

My Vintage Valentine Blog Hop

You should have hopped on over here from Martha C.'s Blog - http://dreamofcrafting.blogspot.com/  if you haven't you'll want to start at the beginning with our wonderful Hostess Jess atKinderStampO - http://www.kinderstampo.com/
I have to tell you, vintage is not my forte, but I love seeing it and was so honored when Jess asked me to be part of this hop. I had so many ideas running thru my head with so many project ideas. I started one project in Studio J, (which is a Digital Scrapbooking program by CTMH, which you can play with for free HERE), but I realised I can't post it cause someone will see it and they can't. So I played around with some of the new CTMH papers and stamps and ended up reverting to one of my favorite papers that I feel has a vintage theme, I forget the name of the paper pack but it is retired. Though originally I was going to use the new "BLISS" level 2 paper pack because I think its beautiful "vintage" paper pack. Anyways, my mom sent so many printed pictures from when i was a kid and long before that I need to sort and store in a better place than an old U-haul box. I thought What a great project for this to store some of those "vintage" photos from when my mom was a kid and when my grandparents were kids. I chose to alter a CTMH My Creations Recipe/Photo Box (Z1322). Here is the finished Box:

I know its supposed to be "Valentine Themed" but valentine's day is about love and I do Love my family (sometimes, but don't let them know). J/K.  This Box is full of "Loved" photos that someday will end up in a Scrapbook Album someday, I hope soon. I just realised as I posted the pictures i forgot to add my "pearls". will have to do that in the morning and update my pictures.

Here's a lil Video Tutorial video on how to alter one of thes cool CTMH My Creations Recipe/Photo Box

KinderStampO's 34th Birthday Celebration Blog Hop

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESS!

Photobucket

Today we are celbebrating Jess's birthday she decided to celebrate with a blog hop full of talented bloggers! If you came from Jess's blog, your hopping in the right direction.

If you happened to stumble upon me or are a regular follower start at the beginning of the 43 (yes, that is 43 no typo!) blogs in the hop starting with the Birthday Girl Jess right HERE!

I had a fantastic project planned and have been working diligently on it. At this point I've got the MTC file i think done, but doing the rest, I don't know. I think i need a spare right arm, anyone just got one hanging around? Needless to say what i worked on lst night and today was just not up to par and i can't post it. I am beyond exhausted and in lots of pain. I think the card is alot easier with 2 fully functional arms, hands and fingers and i'll get around to perfecting it. But i did have a back up. I know WOW! i had a plan B! ok it was a bit of last minute plan B but i had it already to go just needed some adhesive and bling!

I used all CTMH papers (of course) and the bling is a left over swirl from something. The cute stamped and embossed image on the front is the New January CTMH stamp of the Month.  The stamp set is really adorable. I think a must have. Check it out on my website HERE.

close up of stamped embossed image

the inside of the card. often we forget to decorate in there too!
NOW you are off to hop on over to Karla's Blog.

Here's the list if you get lost or need to come back to finish on another day(s). I really hope you enjoy the hop!

My Scalloped edge Layer Book

I designed my own layered scallop chipboard book in Design studio, a while ago. (see links for downloads below for my files).  I cut out of fairly thin chipboard.  I used CTMH animal cookie paper for the cover.  The solid colors are DCWV cardstock.  Misc. Christmas ribbons.  The scallop circles, squares and reg. circles are cut from Mini Monograms and used Emboss folder Swiss dots.  The bow stamp is from CTMH Ms. Holiday Cheer stamp set. The Tag on the front was made by someone? (sorry can't remember, if its yours claim it!  It was from a tag swap.  I thought it fit perfect for the book. Measurement of the full book I belive is 6.5" tall and 11 or 11.5" long. I also, used my Cinch  to bind it. haven't added ribbon to my wired binding yet.

My Scarecrow was the first one i made and the easiest!

These two have been a bit more complicated. I have made my own MTC (Make The Cut) Files for these. I still need to work on the covers they need just (hopefully) one more adjustment. My goal is that when you open the file you don't need to resize, you will need to move some stuff to cut. I have decided once these files are finished and just right, I am going to charge a small fee because i've worked really really hard and put alot of time into them. I also, decide that some files like these that i put more than a week's worth of time into I will charge a small fee. Still affordable, but my time is worth something. As much as I love to share, many friends, family and even co-workers (other bloggers that I've made cyber friends with) have said that I should charge for some of the stuff. Yadda, yadda, yadda back to the projects!

Here is my Witch!  She i made the boxes into actual boxes.  So it doesn't open like an Exploding Box.  She stands about 14" tall when all stacked! Other than the spider which is from Cricut paper Dolls, and the metal buckle and ribbon, all else is cut in MTC with my files i made. I used all CTMH cardstock.

Here is Dracula! He stands about 11" tall.  He has his vest embossed with the spider web emboss folder and the buttons are CTMH Pearls. All of him is cut from the MTC files I made too! As You can see his "hair" doesn't quite fit and his "eyes" need to be just slightly bigger! I used all CTMH Cardstock.

Thats it for me today! Don't forget to Check back Tomorrow for the Last day of the Spooktackular treats!
