Update and Need your Input

I feel like such a FOOL! So, recently while designing a new file and was having difficulty getting it to cut properly, i reached out to a friend to see if it was my design, or my software or my cutter. She uses SVG format and she asked me why do you still seperate your SVG files? Which, I simply replied because other wise they are "joined/welded" and when opened in other programs they don't work properly. To which she replied, you don't need to do that anymore! WHAT!? When did this happen!? Oh my I feel like such a fool! How did I miss this critical information!?  I'm glad I found out but wish I knew earlier.

So, To fix the files I've already updated, I need to go back and fix those SVGs. I'm glad I found out now since I've only updated a handful of my files. OH, the Time it will save me!!! I've also decided that I'm only going to do Color JPEGS for tracing the peices, for the time being.  But I'm curious, does anyone still need the JPEG formats to trace? I don't mind doing them but if noone is using them then, what's the point?! If you still use them, please let me know because  If I don't hear, I may just eliminate that format to save me more time.

Also, I'll be asking this question in the next few Card & Layout Sketch posts, in case everyone doesn't see this post. Since, I've had numereous requests to seperate the files and Sketches because many are just "pinning" the sketches and don't want to download them.  I'm curious do I still need to make the "Sketches" downladable? or do y'all want to just "pin" them?  You can still right click and "save" the pictures. If you could comment with your thoughts, so I can take it in for consideration of how to proceed in the future?

If you want your options please speak up because If I don't hear, you could loose your options. Once, I stop doing options, I may decide not to go back. Speak now or forever hold your peace!

Until Next Time...

  4. Hello! To be honest, I have saved so many designs and not put them to much use yet. I also have a silhouette machine but I don't have a lot of knowledge about that either. I think I would like to print and cut at first till I get use to this. If memory serves me, I would need the jpeg picture to trace to do that. Not sure if I have this right or not. Since you were asking if anyone needs them, I believe I would. You may have another suggestions for me. Just let me know. :) PS: Thanks so much for sharing your gift with us. I love your work!

  5. I like the JPEG files in addition to the SVG files so I would like to keep those. The sketches are fine to just pin and don't need to be downloaded. Thanks for your help and all your great files.

  6. I use the jpegs so would like to keep those. But don't know what pinning is, so can't comment on that. Would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to you though!

  7. I use Silhouette and I put all of my files into the library so I can see everything I have in a particular category. The only time I use a jpeg or png is when the file is separated - then I lay the pic on top of the separated file for viewing purposes and also to remember later how it's supposed to go together. If the file was already put together then I guess I wouldn't use the jpeg :)

  8. First thank you for all the freebies. I use either a png or jpg as a reference picture with the svg in the file that I store them. With all that said you do what you feel is best for you!

  9. I, too, like the jpegs along with the svgs. When searching for files on my computer, it is easier to see the jpegs. Thanks for so generously sharing your files with us!!
