30 Days of Handmade Gift Giving Blog Hop ~ Day 5

It is Day 5 of 30 Days of Handmade Gift Giving Blog Hop!

I sure hope you enjoyed yesterdays Gift Idea!

Today is a New Place to visit for Inspiration!

Today You are going to visit ME!

Today I am the Blog you will be going to, so actually you won't be going anywhere. So just get comfy and sit back and enjoy my altered papermache book. I purchased it at Joann's, I think for $3.99, had it so long I forget. It opens up to be able to store things in. I got the inspiration from someone's blog they did theirs quite different and for decoration. While mine has a multi-purpose use. It can be displayed as a decoration and at the same time be a keepsake for Letters to Santa over the years that your kids write and/or Santa writes back.  I sell these for $10 + shipping. If you'd like a custom made one let me know I can do them in different colors and things too. Just email me at TheScrapoholic@gmail.com.  So I basically painted several light good coats, letting each coat dry before you apply the next the book brown with gold acrylic paint as seen here:

I added a printed sticker to the book.

The opened view of the book

Then I started with all these supplies:

I then inked all paper edges in Pear CTMH Ink. I adhered the CTMH Mistletoe papers down with my ATG gun and glue dots. The Stamp of Santa is a CTMH clear acrylic stamp set retails for $9.95 which if you'd like to purchase email me thescrapoholic@gmail.com, I can send you an evite link to shop online and order the stamp and a other stamps, papers or supplies you may want.  I colored the stamp in with Gel Pens, the beard I highlighted the lines with a silver gel pen. I added green gross grain ribbon, paper flowers cut with the cricut with a 1" red circle and a clear Christmas sticker and prima poinsettias center embellished in the middle with CTMH pearls. I added more CTMH white pearls in the top left corner of the green paper. I hand wrote "Letters to Santa" with my CTMH Holiday Red and Chocolate color markers.
This is the finished front Cover:

This is the inside of the box decorated with just some CTMH Mistletoe Papers:

30 Days Of Christmas Cards n Sketches ~ Day 5

Today is the First day of 30 Days of Blog Hopping!

Sorry this didn't post yesterday. I am not sure why, I have it pre-scheduled and my other pre-scheduled post is posting but not my cards n sketches. I think I might have it fixed and most certainly hope I do! Its hard on the weekends to catch it as I am not on-line as much cause its family time on weekends. Before I know it my last 2 kids will be out of the hose and off to college too so we try to do as much family time as we can on weekends when dad/hubby is home. I know how fast time flies. Anyways, without any further ado here are the Christmas sketches n Cards:

Card Sketch 3

Cards made from Sketch:

The Cards are A2 size (4.25" x 5.5") The "mat" is 4" x 5.25", the larger square is 1.75", and the smaller square is 1.5"

Bet you weren't expecting that many? I really wanted to give a good idea on color combos and prints vs. embossed. Theres more you could do I'm sure.  Did you notice I didn't ink any edges! OMG! Do you know how much it bugs me! but I do like them and I was trying to make them quick n easy, no stress other than the lining up straight which you can probably notice not all are, but thats the unique handmade part of the cards. heck I've seen machine made ones worse! LOL!

I've added Mr. Linky below if you'd like to post your card that you made from this sketch!

Be sure to come back in a few hours for Day 3 of the 30 Days of Handmade Gift Giving!

30 Days of Handmade Gift Giving Blog Hop ~ Day 1

Today is the First day of 30 Days of Blog Hopping!

Each day You will find a link to blog to visit with some awesome "gift" project with some sort of "recipe" or Instructions on how they made it. Some will have their projects available for sale too! This hop is quite different than most because you only have one blog to visit in one day. So you get to really get the project, maybe even try one yourself and check out the rest of their blog too! Maybe follow the blogs. Please, be kind and leave them some "love Behind" (comment on their project/post).

Sorry for posting a little later today, we had a massive downpour of rain an hour before Trick or Treat started. Which in turn knocked out our internet for several hours, not a happy camper as I was almost done uploading my video. We didn't get it back til about 10pm thinking I could try to upload before i went to bed, ha! joke was on me, i was up til midnight trying to get it to go but the internet kept going out. Guess who will be getting a call yup, Quest my internet provider! that's what i get for making my video so late, hopefully I can get the rest banged out and uploaded in a better time manner for my next blog post. If there is any problems with the embedded video check my You Tube Channel for Countdown Calendar Tutorial HERE.

Today I am the first Blog you will be going to. So just get comfy and sit back and enjoy my Countdown Calendars.

I used a 5x7 clear acrylic frame which you can get at (maybe, depending on your area and stores), most craft stores, Dollar Tree, 99 cent store ( I never find them at these cheap stores.), Department Stores. They range from $1 (which I never find those ones, but I know others have) to about $3 depending again on your area. Just some of your scrap papers, some diecuts of your choice, ink, if you like to ink your stuff like me, border punch, ribbon, etc. whatever you want to make your style Countdown calendar. To be able to attach jump rings you will need a Cropodile to punch thru the acrylic frame and your finished "mat". While making you design remember to keep in mind where it is your going to have your countdown numbers and the style and size. I did a video tutorial, (scroll past the pictures to the video) which I hope I explain it well enough.

30 Days Of Christmas Cards n Sketches ~ Day 1

I've created 30 different style Christmas cards to stock my Etsy and My Zibbet stores and for my own personal use too for family and friends. In between all my doctor appts. this past month, I took advantage of my nerve block that went successful and the less amount of pain I was in. I still have pain and unfortunaltey always will but with more nerve blocks and PT I will be in much less pain and hopefully gain alot more use of my arm back. I got busy, before the pain came back! So, I decided along with the 30 days of Handmade Gift Giving Blog Hop, to do my 30 cards. The Cards will each have a sketch that I have personally sketched out with pen and paper, as I don't know how to do so on the computer and don't even have a clue which program to even use to do so. I will be posting the Christmas Cards super early (my time, PST) 6:00 am (PST) and then between 7:00 and 9:00 am PST the 30 Days of Handmade Christmas Gift Making Blog Hop (say that 10 times fast LOL!). It will be a busy Month. I sure hope you enjoy all the inspiration coming this month!

Here is my First Christmas Card and Sketch

I've added Mr. Linky below if you'd like to post your card that you made from this sketch! You can add up to Dec. 23rd.

Be sure to come back in a few hours for Day 1 of the 30 Days of Handmade Gift Giving!

Until next time...
