30 Days of Handmade Gift Giving Blog Hop ~ Day 24 Project 3

This is Project 3 for me today, usually its just one project a day but with it being Thanksgiving and Black Friday I thought I'd add extra!

For this project I chose to do Glass Drop Magnets. These can be very fun and they are so easy, plus a great way to use up scraps too!

What you will need is:

  • Bag of Glass Drops 2 in. diameter (or bigger or larger or the square ones)
  • Liquid Glass (or similar)
  • Scrap Papers or even pictures that you can Punch out a 2" circle or square
  • Strong magnet sheet or the lil circles ones
First you want to take your paper that you plan to use and either punch it with your circle or square punch for the size of the glass drops you have. I like the 2" ones as I like the size. You can also, use the Studio G clear stamp blocks I believe they are 2" squares they work great and they are a strong clear acrylic plastic.

Then you will apply a light coat of the Liquid Glass to the glass drop. I use my finger tip to spread it out evenly.

Then you will place on the paper that you have chosen to use and punched out and place it face down on the flat side where you applied the CTMH Liquid Glass and apply gentle pressure and rub out any air bubbles and be sure it lies flat.

Then repeat the same step with adding the CTMH Liquid Glass to the back side of the paper that you just added to the glass drop make sure its not too little or too much. Then add the magnet to the flat side of the glass drop. apply gentle pressure to the back side. Then let dry.

Once they are completely dried they can now be used as beautiful, fun or festive magnets depending on the paper or even a photo you chose to use. Then choose how you want to wrap them or box them if giving them as a gift. Which I have not decided how I want to box them yet but as soon as I do I will share of course. Then you are done!
